Jennifer Lopez announced on the Ryan Seacrest radio show that she is leaving American Idol. The confirmation of her exit comes after fellow judge Steven Tyler announced he was bouncing.

Lopez, who served as a judge on Seasons 10 and 11, did hint on the ‘TODAY’ show yesterday (July 12) that it might be her time to go. But there were no hints during this chat. She confirmed it, in an emotional way.

First, Lopez said, “It’s been a long process and you know this more than anybody… I really have been torn, since we spoke about it even before the finale. I did two years since I fell so in love with the show. I never felt so much a part of a family with something, working on it, as I did with ‘Idol.’ It was such a lovely surprise in my life to do it, but you know, even last year, when I had to make the decision, it was super tough to decide.”

She continued to explain how busy her life is and how she has other opportunities, not to mention twins to raise, saying, “Something has to give and that’s where I am right now.”

“Does that mean we’re coworkers or not? Are we breaking up?,” asked the host.

“I was dreading this phone call,” she sighed. “I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the things I’ve put on hold because I love ‘Idol’ so much. We had an amazing run.”

Seacrest then asked, “Is the door open?”

“No matter what you guys need over there, I am always going to be there,” she said. “I don’t know if I can be there every single day, all the time, the way we’ve been doing it the past two years.”

She even cried a little, but chalked it up to a business decision and not being able to put other things on hold any longer in order to do ‘Idol.’

Idol fever is going strong, the finale is next week in Hollywood, and now there is talk Jennifer Lopez may be leaving the show!

E! asked Jlo if she will return to Idol next season, and she was not quick to give an answer. She did say: “I don’t know,”. “I have some movie things in the works and I have the tour. I love the show and it hurts me to think about not doing it, but I’m just taking it kind of day by day. We’ll see.”

Could be another interesting rumor filled summer for American Idol!

In an article reported in the Miami Herald, it appears that all three of the judges from the last season of American Idol will return to do it again. Idol's executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe was recently interviewed by Ryan Seacrest (the host of American Idol) on Seacrest's daily radio show in Los Angeles. Lythgoe announced while it was not "official" yet, he was delighted to say that all three judges will return. That is clearly a huge win for American Idol. Read the article in the Miami Herald.

J.Lo is speaking out for the 1st time since her divorce from Marc Anthony. She will be featured in the September issue of Vanity Fair. J.Lo talked about the demise of her marriage in the interview: “That was my biggest dream, and I really worked hard at it. We both did. Sometimes it doesn’t work -- and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love. It’s still my biggest dream. I am positive -- determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong.”

Vanity Fair contributing editor Lisa Robinson told NBC's Today before the July 15th split that Lopez did not give an indication that a divorce was coming, but she did give clues. "I got a sense of a woman who was coming to terms with herself as a strong independent women," 

Lopez also said in the up-coming Vanity Fair interview: "I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic -- and we did. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children."
