There are plenty of fun things to eat when you go to the fair; corndogs, funnel cake, cotton candy and so on. But for one Chinest tourist at a Sri Lanka fair, none of those things compared to a diamond. Chow Cheng was caught attempting to switch out a valuable diamond worth around 1.8 million Rupees (approximately $13,600) at the island nations largest gem and jewelry fair, so he decided to swallow it.

Popsicle sticks are great for almost any craft project you could come up with. What you didn't know is that they are also extremely helpful in aiding prisoners escape. Carlos Garcia -an inmate at the Lee County jail in New Mexico-  escaped from his cell using popsicle sticks and a razor blade. However, on his way out, Garcia changed his mind and climbed back in using a bedsheet.

If you've ever been walking along the beach and found a strangely large "rock" with a waxy finish...you may have stumbled upon ambergris, otherwise known as whale vomit. that's right, i said whale vomit. Charlie Naysmith, an 8 year-old boy from Bournemouth, Great Britian found exactly that, walking on the beach of Hengistbury Head. Ambergris typically sells for around $10,000 per pound due to its high-demand for perfume. The chunk Charlie found is worth up to $63,000.

For 15 years now, the Mayor of the Alaskan town, Talkeetna has been....a cat. That's right, this town with a population of 900 elected the kitty known as "Mayor Stubbs" 15 years ago when several of the town residents were unhappy with the candidates running and -as a joke- encouraged people to write in Stubbs the cat.

Earlier this month, Lee Gardner was taken to the hospital for severe stomach pains and blood in his vomit. Upon arrival and examination, he expected anything but what he was told: it was all due to the platic fork loged in his stomach that he swallowed ten years ago. After a 45 minute surgery, the fork was successfully removed. Unusual enough that the fork never passed, it remained completely whole, only being slightly blackened.
